OI Foundation Physician List
   The OI Foundation maintains a list of physicians who have identified themselves as knowledgeable about OI and who have expressed an interest in treating patients who have OI.

OI Foundation Annual Clinic Directory
   The OI Foundation conducts a survey each spring with clinics and medical care facilities that have identified themselves as treating patients with OI. The results are printed in a clinic directory by state (which includes contact information and clinic hours) and an easy-to-use comparision chart that lists the clinics and the services they offer.
   The clinic list is updated as needed throughout the year, the comparison chart is updated once annually, each Fall.

Fact Sheets & Other Resources
   Many of our most popular resources are available on line on our Fact Sheets page or by order through our on-line store. If you can't find the answer(s) your looking for, please contact the OI Foundation. We will respond to most queries immediately during business hours, all queries receive a confidential, individual response within three business days.

New Resource for the OI Community!
The Shriner's Hospital in Montreal, Quebec, has published a brand-new resource for the OI community. The book draws on the experience of the inter-disciplinary treatment team involved with the care of children and young adults with OI at the Shriner's Hospital for Children (Canada). It provides a guide to diagnosis, medical, surgical and nursing rehabilitative care, and psycho-social issues. Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the OI Foundation National Conference, or you can download an order form and purchase the resource by mail. Learn the Latest Research Information
   Read the report from the 2006 "New Research Strategies in OI" scientific meeting, where more than 50 clinicians and researchers gathered to discuss the current status and future course of clinical care and research into treatments and a cure. This was the fifth OI Foundation Scientific Meeting. Sponsored by the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases, the Office of Rare Diseases, and the Buchbinder Family.

An Introduction to OI for Medical Professionals, Individuals, and Families
  This 12-page pamphlet includes basic information about the disorder, including characteristics, diagnosis, common myths, inheritance factors, basic treatment strategies, and precautions for medical professionals caring for patients with OI. You can Download the pamphlet now, or order copies through the online store.

OI: A Guide for Nurses
  This 64-page book is intended for medical professionals, or for families to use as a resource while working with medical professionals. Thanks to a grant from the American Legion Child Welfare Foundation, 10,000 copies were distributed free of charge to nurses and nurse educators throughout the country. Now that the initial distribution is complete, additional copies are available from the Foundation or online through the OI foundation store. A .pdf version of the book is also available for download. Therapeutic Strategies for OI; A guide for occupational and physical therapists
   This 14-page photo-illustrated booklet is intended for medical professionals, or for families to use as a resource while working with a medical professional. Edited by Ellen Painter Dollar, the book is compiled from information provided by PTs, OTs, and physicians familiar with OI. Sections include basic information about the disorder, the role of physical and occupational therapy in managing OI, safe handling of children and adults with OI, and specific strategies for safe, successful therapy for patients with OI.    The Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation is a partner within the National Institutes of Health Osteoporosis and Related Bone Diseases~National Resource Center (NIH ORBD~NRC). The NIH ORBD~NRC maintains information for medical professionals on its web site, including a bibliography on osteogenesis imperfecta.
