ADDitude Magazine's ADHD Parenting Blogger Kay Marner Forms 'Moms Supporting Moms'
Honoring Moms of Kids with Special Needs
Please join me or support me as I walk for Amyra and her mom, Latifah, on Saturday, September 19, in Ames, IA!
Last March I wrote a post for my ADHD parenting blog, My Picture Perfect Family
http://www.ADDitudeMag.com/adhdblogs/4
about Jodi Picoult's novel, Handle With Care. As you may know, a child with Osteogensis Imperfecta (OI) is at the heart of the novel. I read the book with Amyra in mind. I also read it from the perspective of the mother of a child with special needs.
The post that I wrote about the novel garnered several comments, and, to make a long story short(read the long story here: http://www.additudemag.com/adhdblogs/4/6342.html)those responses led me here--to walking for Amyra, and to sending this message to her mom, Latifah: I'm here, and I care. All moms need to stick together, but moms of kids with special needs need each other especially!
Please help make that message clear
by making a gift. Or, join my team, Moms Supporting Moms, for this event!
To make your gift, simply click on the appropriate link above the thermometer on this page. Please be sure to indicate that your gift is in honor of moms of kids with special needs!
If you prefer to mail in your donation, please make all checks payable to the OI Foundation. Then, please mail your check directly to me as the event participant so that I can turn it in at the walk on September 19.
Thank you. Go Moms! Go Amyra!
