Noon - 4 p.m.

Thank you for signing up to participate in our event! The MA Unbreakable Spirit Walk for OI was launched in 2005 by John & Christine Rossi, Mike & Michelle Potorski and Dick and Mary Ellen Wyman. Each couple has a child with OI (2nd picture on the right).   This year we are holding the walk in memory of our dear friend Ilene McBride who we lost on February 14th.  Ilene was a fighter in every sense of the word.  5 years ago her son, Ethan, was born with OI.  Ilene took that diagnosis and has fought tirelessly to find a cure and raise awareness to create a better tomorrow for her son and all those dealing with OI.  This was not the only battle Ilene had to fight, she also fought a courageous 3 year battle against Hodgkins Lymphoma.  Through it all she remained focused on her mission and was a constant example for those of us who knew her what it truely means to have an "Unbreakable Spirit".

This is a fun-filled event for the entire family. You can walk/wheel one lap or 100 to support the cause. There will also be food, live music, games, raffles, and activities for all ages throughout the afternoon.

By involving your friends, co-workers and family members in the Unbreakable Spirit Walk for OI, you are raising much-needed funds that will help the Osteogenesis Imperfecta Foundation to provide information, resources, and answers to parents like Christine, John, Michelle, and Mike.

You also are building awareness of osteogenesis imperfecta (OI) and how it impacts the lives of the children, teens and adults who are affected.

This page contains all of the tools you need to create your own Unbreakable Spirit for OI web page and to raise pledges that will suppport the work of the OI Foundation.

To start setting up your own page, select a link on the right to register for the event, either as an individual participant or as part of a team. After you register, you will find that we have written sample text for your page and for your e-mails, but we encourage you to personalize these messages and use your own words.

If you prefer to use a paper pledge sheet, download and print this pledge form. Please also register yourself and your family through the link near the upper right side this page.

If you are already registered for this event, select the 'Participant Center' link on the right to access your web page.

If the 'Participant Center' link is missing, but you have already registered, click on blue "Login" in the upper right of this page. Log in to our website with your username and password, and then navigate back to this web page at www.oif.org/massachusettswalk10.

Please don't forget that YOUR STORY IS POWERFUL!  Many of us find it easier to relate to one person's struggles and triumphs than to think about all of the 50,000 Americans who live every day with OI. Use this event to tell your story and/or the story of your loved one who lives with the daily realities of OI.

As always, if you have questions or run into any difficulties while you are setting up your personal page, please don't hesitate to contact OI Foundation Development Coordinator, Gretchen Schock at (800) 981-2663, or by email at gschock@oif.org.

For other questions about this June 5th event, contact volunteer event organizer Christine Wyman Rossi at (508) 620-0991 or c.rossi@verizon.net .
